  School Health Services

The goal of the school health program are to maintain and/or improve the health status of all students, thus enabling them to benefit from their educational experiences, and to promote optimum health status and lifestyles for all students through the joint efforts of the home, school, and community. Nursing services are provided by a certified registered nurse under the administrative direction from the Oneida Health Center.

The school nurse provides:

Medical interventions for injuries

Dispenses medication upon request from parents and with written permission from physicians. Immunizations, T.B. screening, and hearing, vision and dental screening through a coordinated effort with the Oneida Health Center.

Counseling to students and families in health-related matters

Classroom presentations on various health topics concerning students.

Referrals to community resources for students with unmet health needs in the school
